Corrections Corporation of America Sets Date for 2001 Annual Meeting of Stockholders

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 2001--Corrections Corporation of America (NYSE:CXW) will hold its 2001 Annual Meeting of Stockholders at 10:00 a.m., Nashville time, on Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at the Loews Vanderbilt Plaza Hotel, 2100 West End Avenue, Nashville, Tennessee. The record date for stockholders entitled to notice of and to vote at the annual meeting has been set for Monday, April 16, 2001. At the annual meeting, the holders of the Company's common stock as of the record date will be asked to elect nine directors to the Company's board of directors and to ratify the board of directors' selection of the Company's independent auditors for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2001. The Company anticipates distributing definitive proxy materials with respect to the annual meeting on or before April 30, 2001.
