Corrections Corporation of America Names William Rusak as Chief Human Resources Officer

NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 6, 2006 - Corrections Corporation of America (NYSE: CXW), the nation's largest corrections management provider to government, announced effective July 1, 2006, William K. Rusak has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Rusak will be responsible for the strategic, operational and administrative role of the human resources functions for CCA's workforce of nearly 15,500 employees.

With nearly 30 years of experience in human resources, labor issues, employee relations, and corporate strategy and restructurings, Rusak has served as a consultant to CCA's Human Resources department for the past three months. Having held numerous board positions internationally over the past 20 years, Rusak has served in a variety of business and human resources roles in his career, including the president of two companies. For the past five years in Nashville, he has held the position of Vice President, Human Resources for the American headquarters of the global company BBA Fiberweb, based out of London, which is one of the world's largest organizations in the nonwovens business. From 1998-2000, he was President of Country Business Services in New York, which provides brokerage, financial and consulting services to buyers and sellers of small and medium-sized businesses. In Montreal for nine years, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of a major Canadian textile manufacturer, Dominion Textile. Earlier in his career, Rusak also worked for Racemark International in New York and Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in Akron.

Rusak earned a bachelor of law degree from La Salle University, and earned specialized training in business studies from McGill University in Montreal, Canada and the executive management program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
